Former Assam cricketer Ranjan Gogoi passes away, ACA pay condolences

Former cricketer of Assam Ranjan Gogoi, popularly known as Pom has died at age of 52 years on May 17 at 2:00 AM at a private Hospital in Guwahati. A resident of Sarumotoria, Guwahati, leaves behind his wife and a daughter.

An acclaimed cricketer, Late Ranjan Gogoi represented Assam in the Vijay Merchant (U-15)Trophy for the 1982-83 and 1983-84 seasons. He also represented the State in the C.K. Nayudu U-19 School Tournament for the seasons 1983-84 and 1984-85.

A retired employee of the Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Guwahati, Assam, Late Ranjan Gogoi was also a member of the Assam School Team that played against Trinidad and Tobago (West Indies) School Team in Guwahati in 1985.

Romen Dutta, President, Assam Cricket Association and Devajit Saikia, Secretary, Assam Cricket Association and other officials of ACA have condoled the untimely demise of Ranjan Gogoi.
