From the lush grasslands of Kaziranga to the imagination of young readers, a new children’s storybook “Tora’s Tryst with Humans” was officially released today in a warm and engaging literary event.
Authored by Sukanya Deuri Bharali, a Guwahati-based doctor, the book marks her debut in children’s literature. Drawing inspiration from the natural world around her, the story beautifully explores the complex relationship between humans and animals—capturing both its tender and challenging aspects.
The book was formally launched by eminent writer, journalist, and Manoj Kumar Goswami, in the presence of distinguished guests including Indrani Raimedhi, Dileep Chandan, Dr Partha Pratim Borah, and Miguel Das.
The event was moderated by acclaimed Sattriya practitioner and Sangeet Natak Akademi Yuva awardee Mridusmita Das Bora, adding cultural depth to the occasion.
Several prominent personalities graced the launch, including Padmapani Bora, Diganta Barah, Ruchi Bharadwaj Borah, Mantu Kumar Das, Prasanta Kathkotia, and noted senior lawyer Anshuman Bora, along with a large gathering of literary enthusiasts.
Tora’s Tryst with Humans promises to be a meaningful addition to children’s literature, offering young readers a thoughtful narrative on coexistence, empathy, and the delicate balance between nature and humanity.
