Our hearts goes out for Indian people: US extends additional support amid pandemic

The second wave of Covid-19 has hit India hard as daily rate of positive cases are increasing rapidly. In these difficult times many countries have come further to help India. After Russia, France and Israel extended their support to India, today the US said that it is working closely with its partners in the Indian government to deploy more supplies and additional support.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote on Twitter, “Our hearts go out to Indian people in the midst of the horrific COVID-19 outbreak. We’re working closely with our partners in the Indian government, and we’ll rapidly deploy additional support to the people of India and India’s healthcare heroes.”

US National Security Adviser (NSA) Jake Sullivan expressing concern for India said US is working ‘around the clock’ to help out.

India on Saturday reported 3.49 lakh Covid-19 cases with 2,767 new deaths. The total Covid-19 cases in India has now reached 1,69,60,172, while the death toll has surged to 1,92,311 in the country.
