The Prime Minister said Assam is globally known for its tea and noted that with the upcoming semiconductor plant in Morigaon, the state will soon gain recognition for semiconductor chips.
Referring to the BJP’s election manifesto released yesterday, Modi said it promises major investments in infrastructure, employment generation and education. He also said the party will work towards implementing a Uniform Civil Code to safeguard the tribal culture and traditions of the state.
Later, addressing his second rally at Biswanath, Modi said that BJP’s vision is to build an “Atmanirbhar Assam”. He said the party has promised to spend 18 thousand crore rupees on flood and erosion control in the state.
Alleging that the Congress allowed illegal immigrants to settle on land belonging to indigenous people, Modi said his government will work to make Assam free from illegal immigration and safeguard the land rights of indigenous communities.
