Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance on Monday, who was accompanied by Second Lady Usha Vance, their children, and senior officials from the U.S. administration.
During the meeting, PM Modi fondly recalled his recent visit to Washington D.C. in January and his constructive discussions with President Donald Trump, which set the stage for deepening India-U.S. cooperation through the shared visions of “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) and “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Both leaders reviewed the ongoing progress in bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the momentum in key areas such as trade, defence, energy, and strategic technologies. They welcomed advancements in negotiations for a mutually beneficial India-U.S. Bilateral Trade Agreement aimed at improving the welfare of both nations’ citizens.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments, underlining the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing global challenges.
Prime Minister Modi extended warm wishes to Vice President Vance and his family for a pleasant and productive stay in India. He also conveyed his greetings to President Trump and expressed eagerness to welcome him during his planned visit to India later this year.
