Nasir Hossain has officially returned to competitive cricket after completing a two-year ban imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching its Anti-Corruption Code.
The 33-year-old, who was sanctioned in September 2023 and handed a six-month suspension, became eligible to resume his professional career after fulfilling all the requirements set by the ICC, including participation in a mandatory Anti-Corruption Education session.
“Nasir Hossain has now met all the conditions outlined in the sanctions. With the educational session completed, he is now permitted to return to official cricket from April 7, 2025,” the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed in a statement.
Marking his return on the very day his suspension was lifted, Nasir played for the Rupganj Tigers in the Dhaka Premier League against Gazi Group Cricketers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Between 2011 and 2018, Nasir represented Bangladesh in 115 international matches across formats, becoming a familiar face in the national squad during that time.
