Bongaigaon Medical College Gets Approval for 100 MBBS Seats

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has formally approved Bongaigaon Medical College for the admission of 100 MBBS students, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced.

With this approval, Bongaigaon Medical College becomes Assam’s 15th medical college, taking the state’s total number of MBBS seats to 1,925.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described the development as another significant milestone in Assam’s efforts to emerge as a major hub for medical education.

Sarma also expressed gratitude to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda for his continued support and for granting the approval.

The approval is expected to further expand medical education opportunities for students in Assam and strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure.

“A proud moment for Assam,” Sarma said.
