INSAS rifles stolen from Meghalaya Police recovered

Guwahati, August 24 (NKTV): On August 15, three INSAS rifles were stolen by unidentified miscreants from the police outpost at Mawlai Mawkynroh on August 15. The same have been recovered by the Search and Rescue Team of the Meghalaya Fire and Emergency Service on Monday.

The weapons were dumped in the Wah Umkhra river near the Jaiaw-Umpohliew bridge in Shillong.

“The search began after reports of an anonymous letter claiming that the three weapons were dumped in the river which flows through the city” said Meghalaya Police.
