Guwahati, July 16 (NKTV): The name of every airplane in India starts with VT. But what does this VT stand for?

This two-letter word is nothing but a symbol of slavery. VT stands for “Viceroy Territory”.

According to international rules, it should be written prominently on every aircraft to which country it belongs to. The registration code is five letters and first two letters are the country code, and the subsequent letters indicate which company owns the plane.

It may be mentioned here that a country is given the code by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In 1929, VT was given to India.

The ViceroyTerritory (VT) code was given during the British rule. Surprisingly, even after 87 years, VT exists.
