Digital India completes 6 years today

Guwahati, July 1 (NKTV): Today, on July 01, 2021, Government of India’s Digital India programme has completed six years. The flagship programme of the Government of India was launched in 2015 with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

Addressing a function to mark six years of the government’s flagship programme- Digital India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the vision of minimum government and maximum governance will be fulfilled with help of Digital India. “Digital India is the Sadhana of Atmanirbhar Bharat and is the slogan for becoming a stronger India in the 21st century” he added.

The PM further said that DigiLocker is a good example of how effective Digital India has been. “Now, all important documents including school and college documents, Aadhaar, PAN and Voter ID card can now be stored easily and securely in DigiLocker” he said.

He also said that the concept of ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ is being made implemented with the help of Digital India.

The PM also interacted with beneficiaries of the programme across the nation through video conferencing.
