Curfew in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts to start from 12 PM from May 17

Amid the rise in Covid-19 cases across the state of Assam, the curfew timings in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts has been increased by two hours, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday. The curfew timing will start from 12 PM instead of 2 pm everyday in these two districts from May 17.

Taking to twitter Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote “At DC Office, Tinsukia along with Union Min Sri @Rameswar_Teli & Min Sri @SANJOYKISHAN1 took stock of #COVID situation the dist. Advised at least 500 RTCPR tests, 2K screening, strict containment protocols & advancement of curfew by 2 hrs.”

Earlier, the chief minister in a press meet has said that if the Covid-19 cases increases rapidly then lockdown in Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia might be imposed to curb the spread of dreaded coronavirus.
