Chinese Spacecraft ‘Tianwen-1’ lands in Mars, scripts history

People’s Republic of China created history as their Mars bound spacecraft Tianwen-1 landed in the surface of Mars on Saturday. The Tianwen-1 spacecraft has been in the Martian orbit from the month of February and landed on Saturday, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) said.

According to reports, the lander was carrying the Zhurong rover, named after an ancient Chinese god of fire, which will explore the surface near the landing site. With the histroic moment, China have became the second country in the world after USA to land a rover in the Martian soil.

The CNSA after their successful mission said “The Tianwen-1 mission has achieved China’s first landing on another planet, and is a milestone with great significance in China’s development of space and aviation”.

The Zhurong rover rover, which weighs 240 kilograms, can last three Martian months, about 92 days on Earth.
