Assam Cabinet decides to take on Coal Syndicate

Guwahati, June 09 (NKTV): The Government of Assam, in the cabinet meeting on June 08, decided to take on the Coal Syndicate running across the state. In a bid to curtail overloading of coal-laden trucks passing through Assam, mandatory check shall be implemented at Digorkhal and Srirampur gates. This practice will continue on pilot basis till March 31. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the Finance Minister and Transport Minister of the state shall monitor the same.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pijush Hazarika stated “If any excess coal is found after weighing, it would be unloaded from the trucks”.
