Good News for Tourists: Manas National Park to Reopen from October 2
There is good news for tourists and nature lovers in Assam. After the monsoon closure, Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve will reopen to visitors from October 2 for the 2026–27 tourism season.
The decision was announced in a general notice issued by the Office of the Field Director, Manas Tiger Reserve, on September 24. The park will reopen after the completion of the monsoon closure period prescribed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, and the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
However, during the new tourism season, different ranges of Manas will remain closed to tourists on specific days of the week. According to the notice, the Bhuyanpara Range will remain closed every Thursday, the Bansbari Range every Tuesday, the Kahitama Beat every Monday, the Panbari Range every Friday, and the Kuklung Range every Wednesday.
The park authorities said the arrangements have been made in accordance with the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority and the relevant provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and the Assam Wildlife Protection Rules, 1997.
From October 2, tourists will once again have the opportunity to experience the natural beauty, wildlife and rich biodiversity of Manas. The arrival of tourists from across India and abroad is expected to give fresh momentum to the tourism sector in the Manas region during the new tourism season.
