New Star Club registered a dominant victory over Legends Cricket Club in Match No. 03 of the 8th Assam Premier Club Championship 2025–26 (Guwahati Leg) at Judges’ Field, Guwahati, on Monday. The tournament is being organised by the Guwahati Sports Association under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association.
Winning the toss, New Star Club opted to field first. Batting first, Legends Cricket Club were bowled out for 126 runs in 31.1 overs. Parthib Kashyap Sarma top-scored with 48 runs, while Ramesh Deka contributed 24. Dilwar Khan and Aditya Gupta chipped in with 10 runs each. For New Star Club, the bowling attack was led by Kangkan Talukdar (3/21), supported well by Manoj Das (2/12), Dipjyoti Saikia (2/35), and Arun Sonar (1/02).
In reply, New Star Club chased down the target comfortably, scoring 129 without loss in just 15.5 overs. Aditya Roy Choudhury played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 71, while Syed Zeeshan Armand Zufferi remained not out on 42. The opening pair dominated the Legends bowlers to seal a comprehensive 10-wicket win.
Aditya Roy Choudhury was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding batting performance.
The umpires for the match were Arif Hussain Saikia and Biraj Das, while Manash Das officiated as the scorer.
The next match of the championship will be played on January 16, where Gauhati Town Club will take on Young Amateur Club, following a rest day on January 14 and 15.
