Guwahati, June 30 (NKTV): An FIR has been lodged against three coal exporters of Assam for illegally exporting coal to Bangladesh. The FIR has been lodged by one John Dalton Ch Sangma of Dalu Koinadubi, a town located on the West Garo Hills border with Bangladesh.
Sangma has alleged that a coal exporter from Beltola Kuldeep Kumar Bansal, Balwan Singh and one Dharambir Mehta had shipped out 450 truckloads of coal claiming it to be from Assam. Meanwhile, the exporters have been defending themselves by claiming that the consignments had originated in Assam.
It may be mentioned here that that the Government had allowed export of coal to Bangladesh through the Gasuapara Land Customs point in South Garo Hills for a limited period of time, taking advantage of which the alleged transportation was carried out.
