Electric buses to replace ASTC’s diesel run city buses in Guwahati
Guwahati, August 20 (NKTV): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today informed that the cabinet has decided to replace all diesel run city buses operated by the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) in Guwahati with electric buses.
“We shall replace all diesel buses with electric ones within a period of six months to one year” Sarma said.
Addressing media persons, the CM also said that the government shall provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each to bus drivers, conductors and handymen as inter district public transport in on hold since the last few months.
