Govt of Assam Orders Major IPS & APS Transfers
The Government of Assam has issued a fresh order announcing a series of key transfers among IPS and APS officers in the interest of public service.
According to the notification:
- Akshat Garg, IPS (RR-2017), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Chirang, has been transferred and posted as SSP Kokrajhar, replacing Numal Mahatta, APS.
- Numal Mahatta, APS (DR-2004), formerly SSP Kokrajhar, has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) under the Guwahati Police Commissionerate. He replaces Amitabh Basumatary, APS.
- Dhruba Bora, APS (DR-2004), Deputy Commissioner of Police (Security), Guwahati, has been transferred and posted as SSP Chirang, replacing Akshat Garg.
- Amitabh Basumatary, APS (DR-2004), DCP (West), Guwahati, has been transferred and posted as Senior Superintendent of Police, SB (Security), Assam, replacing Manu Thakuria, APS.
- Manu Thakuria, APS (DR-2002), SSP SB (Security), has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Security), Guwahati Police Commissionerate, replacing Dhruba Bora.
The order, signed by Commissioner & Secretary of Home & Political Departments Biswajit Pegu, comes into immediate effect.
