2026 Women’s T20 World Cup Final Set for Lord’s

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that Lord’s will host the final of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to run from June 12 to July 5. This marks the third consecutive ICC World Cup final in England to be held at the historic venue, following the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup and the 2019 Men’s ODI World Cup—both of which were won by the host nation.

Joining Lord’s in hosting duties for the tournament are six other renowned grounds: Old Trafford, Headingley, Edgbaston, The Oval, the Ageas Bowl (Hampshire Bowl), and Bristol County Ground. The competition will feature 12 teams divided into two groups of six, with 30 league matches set to be played before the knockout stages.

ICC Chair Jay Shah praised the ECB’s preparations and lauded Lord’s as the natural choice for a final of such magnitude. He emphasized the UK’s deep-rooted cricketing culture and passionate fanbase, recalling the sold-out 2017 final at Lord’s as a defining moment in women’s cricket.

“This tournament will unite the finest talent in the game, and I’m confident England’s rich cricketing legacy will set a spectacular stage,” Shah said. He also highlighted the event’s role in building momentum for cricket’s return to the Olympics at Los Angeles 2028.

ECB CEO Richard Gould echoed Shah’s sentiments, calling the 2026 edition “the biggest women’s cricket event ever staged in England and Wales.” He expressed pride in the selection of venues and in the opportunity to inspire a new generation of cricket fans.

“This is about more than just scale,” Gould noted. “It’s about delivering a world-class experience that reflects the excellence of the athletes on the field. We want this World Cup to leave a lasting legacy—not just a moment, but a movement for the women’s game.”
