Tragedy at Khagaria School: Staircase Collapses, 7-Year-Old Student Killed,4 Injured
A seven-year-old girl was killed and four other students were injured after a concrete staircase collapsed at a government primary school in Paswan Tola, Amni, under Bihar’s Khagaria district on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred during the school’s morning prayer session. The deceased has been identified as Ritika Kumari, daughter of Manoj Yadav of Amni.
The injured students were rescued from the debris and shifted to the Manasi Community Health Centre for treatment. Officials said recent rainfall and waterlogging may have weakened the staircase structure.
Authorities have ordered a technical investigation into the condition and construction quality of the school building and assured action against those found responsible.
