SBI Inter-Institutional Carrom Tournament 2025 Ends on a High Note

The SBI 2nd Inter-Institutional Carrom Tournament 2025, organised by the Civil Accounts and Cultural Club in association with Numaligarh Refinery Limited and SD Sports, concluded successfully on 11th August 2025 at the Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Assam. The three-day sporting event, held from 9th to 11th August, witnessed spirited competition among various institutions across the state.

In the Men’s Team Championship Category, the Directorate of Health Service, Government of Assam, emerged as champions by defeating AG (A&E), Assam with a clean sweep of 3-0 in the final match.

In the Women’s Open Singles Category, Pallabi Baishya of Assam Secretariat clinched the championship title, defeating Purabi Bora Yadav of AG (Audit), Assam, in straight sets 2-0 (25-16, 23-14).

The Men’s Open Singles Category saw Akhlas Ahmed of the Postal Department secure the championship, overpowering Simanta Das of Assam Secretariat 2-0 (23-14, 25-13).

The Closing Ceremony was graced by Sri S.K. Sinha, IAAS, Deputy Accountant General (Admn), O/o the Accountant General (A&E), Assam as the Chief Guest. Sri Sujit Dey, Assistant General Manager, State Bank of India, Marketing and Public Communication, Local Head Office, attended as the Guest of Honour, along with Sri Sashi Ranjan Singh, Deputy Accountant General (A&E), Assam.

Addressing the gathering, Sri Sujit Dey remarked, “This inter-institutional Carrom Tournament will foster brotherhood, cordial relationships, and strong bonding among the participants, as well as promote unity among the different institutions.”

Prizes and trophies were distributed to the winners and runners-up by the distinguished guests, marking a fitting end to an event that combined competitive spirit with camaraderie.
