Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 184 newly built Type-VII multi-storey flats for Members of Parliament at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in the national capital on Monday at 10 a.m.
As part of the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister will plant a Sindoor sapling within the residential premises, interact with shramajeevis (workers) who contributed to the project, and address the gathering.
The newly developed complex has been designed to be self-sufficient and is equipped with a full range of modern amenities to meet the functional requirements of MPs. Built in line with green construction standards, the project meets the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) 3-star rating and complies with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016. The sustainable design is expected to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy generation, and effective waste management.
Employing advanced construction technology—monolithic concrete with aluminium shuttering—the project was completed on schedule while ensuring high structural durability. The complex is also Divyang-friendly, reflecting an inclusive approach to infrastructure development.
The housing project addresses a long-standing shortage of residential units for MPs. With limited land available in central Delhi, the design prioritises vertical housing to maximise land use and reduce maintenance costs.
Each flat offers around 5,000 square feet of carpet area, with space allocated for both official and residential purposes. The facilities include dedicated offices, staff accommodation, and a community centre to support MPs in performing their parliamentary and constituency duties.
Built to modern earthquake-resistant standards, the complex also features a robust security system to ensure the safety of its residents.
