Over 400 Students Showcase Innovation and Creativity at the Exhibition in Annual Science and Maths Exhibition
Modern English School, Kahilipara, transformed into a powerhouse of creativity and sustainability during its much-anticipated Science and Mathematics Exhibition 2025, held in conjunction with World Environment Day celebrations. With over 400 students participating and more than 200 captivating projects on display, the event was a vibrant blend of innovation, environmental consciousness, and scientific inquiry.
The day began with a special morning assembly dedicated to World Environment Day, where students reflected on the importance of preserving the planet. This was followed by a plantation drive, with enthusiastic participation from students and teachers alike, reinforcing the school’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
For the exhibition, students, grouped into three categories — Classes 3–5, 6–8, and 9–11 — presented a rich array of solo and group projects across a wide range of topics, including Renewable Energy, Artificial Intelligence, Disaster Management, Mathematical Modelling, Robotics, Space Exploration, Waste and Resource Management, and more. The younger students showcased free-choice topics, while older groups explored structured themes related to health, sustainability, and technological advancement.
One of the standout features of the exhibition was its interactive Robotics Zone, where students demonstrated functional robots and futuristic prototypes.
Alongside this, an Experimental Desk allowed visitors to engage in live science experiments and hands-on demonstrations, sparking curiosity across all age groups.
Adding to the excitement, students also enjoyed award-winning short films on Sci-Fi and Environment-themed films, linking cinematic storytelling with scientific imagination and climate awareness.
An esteemed panel of judges — including Dr. Eeshankur Saikia, Professor of Applied Sciences at Gauhati University; Mr. Ananta Kalita, Senior Vice-Principal; and Dr. Lipika Tamuli, PGT-Biology at Modern English School — evaluated the projects based on originality, technical merit, educational value, and real-world relevance.
Mrs. Jonali Das, Principal of Modern English School, remarked, “Today’s exhibition reflects the boundless curiosity and creativity of our students. From sustainability initiatives to advanced tech demonstrations, their projects speak of a generation ready to lead and innovate.”
Ms. Sushmita Chanda, Vice-Principal and Head of the Science Department, added, “The event was not just an academic display, but a celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking. It’s inspiring to see young minds solving problems that matter and communicating Science and Maths to all.”
“The exhibition was organised to motivate and assess the ability of the students,” said Nilutpal Bora, Head of the Science Department.
“Students showcased conceptual explanations of various perceptions of mathematics and science used in daily life through working and non-working models. There were also maths games and fun zones for visitors, non-participating students, and parents at different counters. All participants felt truly motivated and joyous.”
The exhibition, infused with hands-on learning and an eco-conscious spirit, also witnessed strong support from parents who played an encouraging role throughout the preparation phase.
Together, the day stood as a testament to Modern English School’s vision — nurturing scientifically curious, socially aware, and environmentally responsible citizens of tomorrow.
