NIA Launches Major Crackdown on Jihadi Network in Barpeta Road

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its operations against alleged jihadi elements in Assam, conducting extensive raids in multiple locations of Barpeta Road since early morning.

The agency carried out searches in sensitive areas including Manipur and Nichukha in Barpeta Road. Several houses of individuals suspected to be linked with jihadi activities were raided as part of a broader investigation.

This fresh crackdown is aimed at gathering more evidence and information related to previous jihadi cases. Several youths had been arrested earlier on similar charges.

Multiple teams of NIA officials have been deployed in the region. During the raids, documents and electronic devices were seized and are being examined.

The operation is still underway in several parts of Barpeta Road.

This significant NIA action highlights the central agency’s continued focus on curbing jihadi networks operating in the state.
