NEFIT Announces New Executive Committee at General Body Meeting in Guwahati
The North East Federation on International Trade (NEFIT) on Monday announced its newly elected Executive Committee for the next tenure during its General Body Meeting held at the India Club in Guwahati.
The meeting was presided over by NEFIT’s Interim President Nilam Agarwal. Before the proceedings began, members paid homage to legendary artist late Zubeen Garg, NEFIT Founder President late R.C. Agrawal, Founder Advisor late M.L. Debnath and former Advisor late Anup Kumar Gogoi.
As per the announcement, Mrinal Hatkhowa has been elected as the President of NEFIT, while Erison KP (Sloan) Khonglah will serve as the Working President. Palash Lahan has been appointed as the General Secretary and Ashish Kumar Deb as the Treasurer.
The Vice Presidents include Ravi Agarwal, Sandeep Agarwal, Tokong Pertin, R.K. Sherjit and Shawlin Gashnga. The organisation has also named joint secretaries, executive members and advisors representing various states of the North Eastern region.
The newly constituted committee aims to strengthen international trade linkages and enhance economic cooperation in the North East. As part of its future initiatives, NEFIT has decided to organise an exposure trip next year from Guwahati to Lhasa in Tibet via Kathmandu. Academic and cultural delegations to Kunming, Baoshan and Tengchong in China are also planned.
NEFIT further stated that it will undertake various activities to promote the North Eastern region and boost trade relations with eastern countries in the coming days.
