Mizoram | Stricter lockdown for a week from tonight

Guwahati, July 18 (NKTV): The Government of Mizoram has decided to impose stricter lockdown from midnight tonight till July 24.

The week long total lockdown will be imposed in the Aizawl Municipal Corporation area, while in other parts of the state, district administration will impose restrictions based on the Covid situation at the local level.

The decision has been taken to control the surge in transmission of Covid.

The Government’s order stated that movement of people during this period, including casual visit of neighbours and families residing in the same building, is too strictly prohibited.

As per the order of the total lockdown, all state government offices and private companies barring essential services will be closed during the period. All markets and grocery shops will remain closed.

Public transport is also prohibited during the period. Transportation of goods and commodities from outside the state will be allowed with strict adherence to SOPs.

Places of worship, educational institutions, public parks, picnic spots, theatres, gymnasiums, community halls, restaurants, shopping complexes and malls will also be closed during the lockdown.
