Guwahati, June 24 (NKTV): The Government of Assam, in its cabinet meeting today, has decided to appoint Home Guard Borsing Bey as a Constable of Assam Police.
It may be mentioned here that Borsing Bey had refused a lucrative bribe from drug dealers and played a pivotal role in recovering drugs worth Rs 12 crore in Karbi Anglong. Bey was praised for his action and the Assam Police awarded him with a cash reward of one lakh rupees for his honesty.
Minister Pijush Hazarika, while briefing media persons after today’s cabinet meeting, informed that the cabinet has decided to appoint Borsing Bey as a Constable in Assam Police.
“Glad to share that in today’s Cabinet Meeting, we have decided that Home Guard Borsing Bey will be appointed as Constable in Assam Police as a reward for the integrity he has displayed by refusing bribe” said Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in a post on Twitter.
