Guwahati clinches ACA girls U-15 title with all-round dominance

In a thrilling finale at the D.N. Singha Stadium, Goalpara, Guwahati emerged victorious in the ACA Girls U-15 Inter District Cricket Tournament 2025, defeating Hojai by 47 runs to lift the coveted title.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Guwahati posted a modest total of 123 all out in 35 overs, with Baibhabee Das anchoring the innings with a steady 19 runs off 37 balls. She was supported by Nafasat Begum (14) and Saanvi Jain (12), but Hojai’s bowling attack, led by Serli Englengpi’s brilliant 6/18, kept Guwahati in check.

In reply, Hojai struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 76 in 31.5 overs. Despite a fighting unbeaten 20 from Rituparna Malakar and a quick 15 by Kaushalya Sahu, the team fell short. Guwahati’s disciplined bowling, led again by Baibhabee Das (3/10), proved too strong. Sikha Boro (2/10), Sinhayana Pathak (1/11), Debasmita Das (1/12), and Saanvi Jain (1/24) all contributed to the dominant performance.

Baibhabee Das was deservingly named “Player of the Match” for her all-round brilliance.
