Families of Air India Plane Crash victims asked to submit DNA samples to identify bodies

A tragic incident unfolded on Monday afternoon when an Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff, slamming into the hostel and staff quarters of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. The flight was carrying 230 passengers at the time of the crash, according to Dhananjay Dwivedi, Principal Secretary of the Gujarat Health Department.

The crash occurred around 1:40 PM, resulting in severe damage and chaos in the vicinity. Over 50 injured individuals have been admitted to Civil Hospital for treatment.

In a public appeal, Dwivedi urged the families of the passengers to come forward and submit their DNA samples. “This will greatly assist in the process of identifying the victims,” he stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the need for cooperation from the families during this difficult time.
