Guwahati, August 28 (NKTV): In a joint operation conducted by Mizoram Police and the Narcotics Department on August 26, five lakhs tablets of Methamphetamine were seized from a truck. The truck, bearing registration number, NL 01 AE 0243, was intercepted near Buichali Bridge in Sairang, Aizawl.
“The seized contraband items are worth Rs 10 crore at the local smuggling rate and Rs 25 crores at international smuggling rate” officials informed.
Driver of the vehicle Mantu Kumar Deb and second driver Subhas Das have been arrested and produced at the Special Narcotics Police Station along with the seized contraband items.
Investigation is underway.
