Delhi Govt to provide ₹50k to families with a Covid-19 death and free education to orphans

The Delhi government has decided to provide an ex-gratia of ₹50,000 for families that lost a member to COVID-19. The chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced about the decision taken by the government. The Delhi government will also give ₹2,500 as monthly pension where the head of the family succumbed to Covid-19.

Arvind Kejriwal has further announced that children who have been orphaned due to Covid-19 will get a ₹2,500 monthly pension till they turn 25 and they will also be educated for free.

The Delhi chief minister said “If the husband dies, the pension will be given to the wife, if the wife dies it will be given to the husband. If an unmarried person dies, the pension will be given to his/her parents.”
