Complaint Filed Over Digital Piracy of Assamese Film Roi Roi Binale
The production team of the much-celebrated Assamese film Roi Roi Binale, regarded as the dream project of late singer-composer Zubeen Garg, has lodged an official complaint with Dispur Police against the illegal digital piracy of the movie.
In a written complaint submitted to the Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, Dispur, on November 2, 2025, the team sought an immediate FIR, takedown, and investigation into the unauthorized circulation of the film on various online platforms, including Telegram and certain websites.
The complaint mentioned several Telegram channels, a website link, and an Instagram profile that were actively sharing pirated copies and clips of the film without authorization. It stated that such copyright infringement was causing “severe financial damage” and demanded swift police action to identify and prosecute the individuals responsible.
The Roi Roi Binale team also urged the authorities to contact the concerned digital platforms for prompt removal of all pirated links to prevent further infringement.
A police acknowledgment stamp on the complaint confirms that the report has been received by Dispur Police Station on November 2, 2025.
