City Cricket Club Dominate Ankurjyoti in Assam Premier Club Championship

City Cricket Club registered a convincing five-wicket victory over Ankurjyoti Club in Match No. 02 of the 8th Assam Premier Club Championship (Guwahati Leg) 2025–26, played at Judges’ Field, Guwahati on Sunday.

Winning the toss, Ankurjyoti Club elected to bat first in the 40-over contest. However, they were restricted to 67 runs for 10 wickets in 21.3 overs, struggling against a disciplined bowling attack from City Cricket Club.

Sangeet Das top-scored for Ankurjyoti with 18 not out off 36 balls, while Raj Kumar Pathak (17) and Ranjan Jyoti Khatanjar (10) were the other notable contributors.

For City Cricket Club, Om Prakash Mahanta delivered a match-winning spell, picking up 4 wickets for 20 runs in 6 overs. He was well supported by Rabi Chetry (2/13), Ganesh Basfor (2/14), and Pankaj Rai (2/14).

In reply, City Cricket Club chased down the modest target comfortably, scoring 69 for 5 in 12.4 overs. Rishav Das remained unbeaten on 28 off 14 balls, while Hiyan Kashyap contributed 14 runs. Pankaj Rai also added valuable runs during the chase.

Ankurjyoti Club bowlers Kunal Basfor (2/16) and Ranjan Jyoti Khatanjar (2/31) tried to create pressure, but the target proved too small to defend.

For his outstanding all-round performance, Om Prakash Mahanta of City Cricket Club was adjudged the Man of the Match.

The tournament continues with New Star Club taking on Legends Cricket Club in the next match.
