Care Luit Launches Short Story and Short Film Competitions

Care Luit invites Assam’s young creators to share their stories with the world. “Voices of the Young”, a Short Story Competition and “Voices Through the Lenses”, a Short Film Challenge offer exciting platforms for writers and filmmakers to showcase their talent, imagination, and unique perspectives.

Voices of the Young welcomes participants aged 11 to 18 to write compelling stories in Assamese or English on any theme they feel passionate about. Winners will receive cash prizes up to ₹20,000, citations, and gift hampers, while special mentions will also be celebrated. This is a golden opportunity for young storytellers to have their voices heard and their creativity recognized.

For participants aged 18 and above, Voices Through the Lenses challenges filmmakers to capture the beauty, culture, and communities of the Brahmaputra River in short films of up to five minutes on mobile phones. Themes include riverine livelihoods, faith, nature conservation, resilience, and river diaries. One exceptional film will be rewarded with a cash prize of ₹75,000, with audiences selecting their favourite for the Viewer’s Choice Award worth ₹50,000.

Participants are encouraged to share their video on social media using #VoicesThroughTheLenses to inspire wider engagement and excitement.

Winners will be honoured at the Assam LitArt Festival on 22–23 November 2025 in Guwahati, celebrating the legacy of Late Nibedita Hazarika Madhab.
