With Omicron variant cases rising in the country, around 16,976 ducks were culled by the health officials over the last two days in the Kottayam district of Kerala amid a blu scare. The health officials burned the ducks in a pit and the farms were subjected to disinfection drives.
The Kottayam district collector in a statement said that areas like Vechoor, Aimanam and Kallara were affected by the bird flu.
