Assam State Pickleball Selection Trials 2025 Successfully Conclude in Guwahati

The Assam State Selection Trials for Pickleball concluded with great enthusiasm and success at the Pickleball Club, Basistha, Guwahati, on October 4th and 5th, 2025. The two-day event was organized by the Assam Pickleball Association under the aegis of the Indian Pickleball Association, and witnessed strong participation from athletes across the state.

This year’s tournament was classified as a PWR200 event under the Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) system, giving players the opportunity to earn valuable international ranking points. The trials were held to select Assam’s official team for the upcoming Pickleball Nationals, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru, Karnataka, from November 13th to 16th, 2025.

With over 80 players competing across 12 different categories, the tournament featured age divisions and open formats in both singles and doubles. Categories included Boys and Girls U-16, as well as men’s and women’s events ranging from Open to 60+ age brackets. The event served as a testament to the sport’s growing popularity in Assam, as players showcased remarkable skill, dedication, and sportsmanship throughout.

Results of the Assam State Selection Trials 2025:

In the Boys U-16 Singles, Ayyan Rehman delivered a strong performance to win the title, defeating Aditya Bikram Kaman 11–7 in the final. In the Girls U-16 Singles, Prapti Baruah clinched a thrilling victory over Nayeem Hussain with a narrow 11–10 win. The Men’s Singles Open category saw Aditya Bikram Kaman make a powerful comeback to claim the title, comfortably defeating Swagat Baruah 15–5. In the Men’s Singles 30+ division, Rajat Sarda displayed dominance on the court, overcoming Aayush Agarwal with a 15–6 scoreline, while in the Women’s Singles 30+, Anangsha Alomyan emerged victorious after a well-fought 11–8 win against Manaswinee Hazarika.

In the Mixed Doubles Open, the pairing of Rajat Sarda and Anangsha Alomyan proved too strong for their opponents, as they defeated Jonaied Toshif and Manaswinee Hazarika with an impressive 15–4 victory. The Men’s Doubles Open category featured a highly competitive final, where Parth More and Swagat Baruah defeated Mayukh Talukdar and Jonaied Toshif 15–10. In the Men’s Singles 40+ division, Dr. Madhurjya Baruah showcased his experience and skill, winning against Rohan Abraham 11–7. The Women’s Singles 40+ final was won by Nazneen Rahman, who overcame Babita Mohan Langthasa 11–6.

The Men’s Singles 50+ title went to Mridulal Barkakoti, who registered a solid 11–8 win over Bulbul Das. In the Men’s Doubles 50+ category, the duo of Bipul Kumar Talukdar and Shahnawaz Zaffar edged past Tiken Chandra Basumatary and Hyder Ali Rymbai in a closely contested 11–9 final. The tournament concluded with the Men’s Singles 60+ event, where Amlandeep Das secured a hard-fought 11–9 victory over Mridulal Barkakoti to round off an exciting weekend of Pickleball action.
