Archaeological monuments, sites and museums to reopen from June 16

Guwahati, June 14 (NKTV): The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) issued an order on Monday, stating that all Centrally-protected monuments, sites and museums in the country under the ASI will be opened June 16.

The ASI said that the decision has been taken considering the prevailing situation.

“The opening, however, shall be in strict compliance with the executive orders issued by State and District Disaster Management Authorities in areas concerned” the ASI stated in its order.

Appropriate guidelines and SOPs issued by Union, State and UT Ministries are to be strictly followed while regulating the flow of visitors.

ASI had ordered the closure of all the Centrally-protected monuments, sites and museums in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic situation on April 15.

It is to be mentioned here that there are over 50 Centrally-protected monuments/sites under the Guwahati circle of the ASI.
