Bud Cricket Club secured a dominant 8-wicket victory over ASEB Sports Club today in Match No. 07 of the 8th Assam Premier Club Championship 2025-26 (Guwahati Leg). The match, held at the historic Judges’ Field, saw a clinical performance from Bud CC in both departments.
ASEB Batting Struggles After winning the toss and electing to bat first, ASEB Sports Club struggled to find momentum against a disciplined Bud CC bowling attack. ASEB was bundled out for a modest 105 in 24.2 overs. Parag Thakuria top-scored for the side with a gritty 22 off 14 balls, including five boundaries, while Trideep Bhattacharjee contributed 16.
The Bud CC bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings. Tanveer Islam was the pick of the bowlers, returning remarkable figures of 2 for 8 in just 2.2 overs. He was well-supported by Nipan Deka (2/19), while Rohit Singh and Pushparaj Sharma claimed a wicket apiece to dismantle the ASEB lineup.
Clinical Chase by Bud CC In response, Bud Cricket Club made short work of the target, chasing down 106 runs in just 15 overs with 8 wickets to spare. The chase was anchored by Nibir Deka, who remained unbeaten on 31 off 28 balls*.
The highlight of the innings, however, was an aggressive knock from Kaushik Giri, who scored 30 off 28 balls* with five boundaries. His composed finishing earned him the Man of the Match award. Sanjay Kr. Singh also played a vital role, chipping in with a quick-fire 26. For ASEB, Subrata Dey was the lone successful bowler, taking 2 for 24.
Looking Ahead The tournament, organized by the Guwahati Sports Association under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, continues tomorrow. Fans can look forward to a clash between Ankurjyoti Club and Gauhati Town Club at the same venue.
