No need for Lockdown in Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma

Despite surge in Covid-19 positive cases, Himanta Biswa Sarma has reassured that there is no need for lockdown in Assam as of now. Speaking to media in Nalbari on 25th April, Sarma said that the state is not going through any crisis unlike the rest of the country.

Commenting on the possibilities of closure of educational institutions, he said that the decision on that will be taken after the 2nd of May, after the formation of the new government. He said that currently there is no oxygen scarcity in the state and Assam has enough stock to feed the Covid-19 patients.

Informing about the new oxygen plant that is being set up in Bhutan he said that the plant will be of immense help to Assam.

Himanta Biswa Sarma went to Nalbari to pay homage to the late former Chief Minister of Assam, Bhumidhar Barman.
