New Assam Government to Take Oath on May 12
The swearing-in ceremony of the new Assam government is scheduled to be held on 12th May, 2026.
A meeting of the BJP Legislative Party is likely to be convened on 10th May to formally elect the Leader of the Legislative Party.
The meeting will be attended by senior central leaders — J.P. Nadda, National President of BJP, and Nayab Singh Saini, Chief Minister of Haryana, who have been appointed as Observer and Co-Observer respectively for the process.
This meeting is crucial as it will finalise the leadership structure of the BJP Legislative Party ahead of the formation of the new government in Assam.
