Himanta Biswa Sarma will once again take oath as CM of Assam : Pijush Hazarika

Reacting to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s landslide victory in the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2026, senior BJP leader and Minister Pijush Hazarika expressed his views in a media interaction.

Hazarika stated that as per constitutional norms, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has tendered his resignation. He credited the unprecedented success of the party to the strong and dynamic leadership of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

“Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will once again take oath as Chief Minister of Assam,” he said.

Pijush Hazarika further mentioned that the process of government formation will begin within the next one or two days. He emphasized that the new government will take Assam forward with fresh momentum and renewed energy.

He also thanked the people of his constituency for his victory and attributed the success to the leadership and popularity of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The BJP and its NDA allies are now set to form the government for the third consecutive term in Assam.
