Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary has clarified that his party will not engage in any bargaining for ministerial positions in the new Assam government.

Speaking to the media after a BPF meeting held at the party’s district office in Udalguri, Mohilary stated, “We are not here to bargain for ministerial berths. If any discussion or negotiation takes place, it will only be for the development and welfare of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).”

The meeting was convened following the party’s performance in the recently concluded Assam Legislative Assembly Elections. Several senior BPF leaders attended the meeting along with Hagrama Mohilary.

This statement comes at a time when discussions regarding government formation and portfolio distribution are gaining momentum within the NDA alliance. BPF had won 10 seats in the election.
