Leopard Cub Rescued in Jamugurihat, Handed Over to Kaziranga National Park
A leopard cub was rescued from a tiles shop in Chakighat area of Jamugurihat.
The cub was discovered inside the shop, which had recently received a consignment of tiles from Gujarat via a truck. Forest officials suspect that the cub may have travelled hidden inside the truck.
The leopard cub was promptly rescued by officials of the Diplonga Forest Division. It has been handed over to the authorities of Kaziranga National Park for proper care and rehabilitation.
This incident highlights the increasing cases of wildlife trafficking and accidental transportation of wild animals through commercial vehicles.
