8th Assam Premier Club Championship 2025–26 Kicks Off at Judges’ Field

The 8th Assam Premier Club Championship 2025–26 (Headquarter Zone) commenced with great enthusiasm at the historic Judges’ Field, marking the beginning of another exciting chapter in Assam’s premier club cricket calendar.

The tournament, scheduled from February 24 to March 6, 2026, features competitive encounters among leading club teams from the region. Known for showcasing emerging talent and strengthening the club cricket structure, the championship continues to occupy a prominent place in the state’s sporting calendar.

The Opening Ceremony was graced by Tanmay Jyoti Mahanta, Senior Advocate of the Gauhati High Court and an eminent sports organiser, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the continued efforts to promote grassroots cricket and encouraged players to uphold discipline, dedication, and the true spirit of the game.

Also present at the ceremony were Paresh Chandra Das, President of the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA); Nasir Gul Khan, Sports Secretary (Cricket), GSA; and Munin Nobis, CEO, GSA. Their presence underscored the Association’s strong commitment to the promotion and development of cricket in Assam.

Organised by the Guwahati Sports Association under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, the Championship continues to serve as a vital platform for nurturing talent, fostering sportsmanship, and celebrating the spirit of cricket.

With spirited teams and enthusiastic support from cricket lovers, the 8th edition of the Championship promises high-quality performances and thrilling contests in the days ahead.
