The three-day CBSE Cluster-I Tournament 2026 concluded successfully at Shrimanta Shankar Academy, Dispur, after bringing together hundreds of young athletes from across the North-Eastern region.
Held from July 29 to July 31, the tournament witnessed the participation of 475 students representing 22 CBSE-affiliated schools from various North-Eastern states. The competitions were conducted in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 categories for both boys and girls. Throughout the event, coaches and team managers stayed on the academy campus along with their respective teams.
The tournament was inaugurated on July 29 at 9:30 a.m., while the closing ceremony took place on July 31 at 4:00 p.m. on the school campus.
The closing ceremony was attended by Yashoda Ranjan Das, President of the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society; Kishore Kumar Choudhury, Former Controller of Examinations, CBSE; and Sanjeev Gogoi, the CBSE-appointed Observer, as distinguished guests.
The winners in the various categories were:
- Under-14 Girls: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sivasagar
- Under-14 Boys: Vidya Bharati International School, Tinsukia
- Under-17 Girls: Shrimanta Shankar Academy, Dispur, Guwahati
- Under-17 Boys: Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tinsukia
- Under-19 Girls: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh
- Under-19 Boys: Sampoorna Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh
Organisers said the tournament served as an excellent platform for students from across the North-East to showcase their sporting talent while fostering the values of teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, and unity.
Expressing pride in hosting the prestigious CBSE event, the Shrimanta Shankar Academy family thanked all participating schools, students, coaches, officials, volunteers, and distinguished guests for their wholehearted support in making the tournament a grand success.
