The first death anniversary of beloved Assamese singer Zubeen Garg is being observed today with spiritual and religious programmes at his residence in Kahilipara.
A number of traditional rituals and auspicious ceremonies have been organised at the Kahilipara residence. The programme includes Naam-Kirtan, Naam Prasanga, prayers and other religious rituals to pay tribute to the late singer.
A statue of Zubeen Garg has also been installed at the residence, where family members, relatives and admirers are expected to pay their respects to the iconic singer.
Meanwhile, Zubeen Garg’s father, Arun Garg, has already left to perform the traditional Pind Daan rituals as part of the death anniversary observances.
Several programmes will be held throughout the day as family members and admirers remember the singer and his immense contribution to Assamese music and culture.
On the first anniversary of his death, Zubeen Garg continues to live on in the hearts of millions of admirers across Assam and beyond.
