Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Inaugurates ₹400 Crore Container Terminal

Union Minister of Shipping, Ports and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal today inaugurated the ninth container terminal at the Thoothukudi Port. He also dedicated other facilities like the Drone monitoring Centre, Orchard, Tower lights and Solar power plant. In his inaugural speech, he said that the new container terminal built at Rs. 400 Crore can handle 6 lakh containers annually. He said that the Government was keen on promoting the port infrastructure all over the Country.

The Minister of State for Ports Santhanu Thakur said that the Government was implementing the Sagar Mala and the Gati Sakthi schemes to have an efficient infrastructure.
