Union Minister Kiren Rijiju accuses LoP Rahul Gandhi of using national security issues as a political tool in the House
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has accused Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, of using national security issues as a political tool in the House. He said national security is an extremely important matter for the country and urged Gandhi to refrain from raising such issues in a manner for political gain.
Commenting on the notice regarding the removal of the Lok Sabha Speaker, Rijiju said there are well-established norms and procedures in the House for dealing with such matters. He added that the action of Congress MPs in this regard has lowered the dignity of the Speaker’s office. Speaking to the media at the Parliament premises, the Minister said it is very dangerous not to adhere to the rules and regulations of the House. He further said that as the Leader of the Opposition, Gandhi has an obligation to maintain the decorum of the House.
BJP also criticized Rahul Gandhi for making repeated false allegations in the Parliament against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi condemned Gandhi’s language, and style and said that his political tactics took parliamentary decorum to another low level. He further alleged that despite warnings by the Chair, congress leader made false allegations and used objectionable words.
