UNICEF donates 3,000 oxygen concentrators to India to fight Covid-19

The UNICEF has sent 3,000 oxygen concentrators, 500 high-flow nasal cannulas, 85 RT-PCR Covid-19 testing machines and other equipments to India to help its fight against the second wave of the deadly Coronavirus. The UNICEF is also helping the country to install 25 oxygen plants for hospitals in Maharashtra and northeastern India.

The UNICEF representative to India, Dr Yasmin Haque said, “Covid-19 is severely overstraining the health system in India and this will help the country combat the coronavirus.

India, on Friday, reported 4 lakh fresh Covid-19 cases which is the highest single day figure since the pandemic began. With these new cases the total tally of Covid-19 in India now stands at 1,91,64,969.
