The government of Odisha has announced two weeks of lockdown in the state amid the rise in Covid-19 cases. The lockdown will remain in effect from May 5 till May 19.
However, during the lockdown people can walk 500 meters between 7 am and 12 pm to buy essentials items. In the lockdown there will be no restrictions imposed on movement of emergency services, health and other essential services.
The state of Odisha, on Saturday, reported 8,015 new cases of the dreaded coronavirus. 14 people also succumbed to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. However, 5,634 Covid-19 patients also recovered in the last 24 hours.
